Environmental Factors Checklist

“My husband uses Axe body spray, eats Taco Bell twice a day and works in a chemical factory - yet I’m the one struggling with my health - why?”

Environment! Whether it’s your internal environment or the external: all of our bodies have a tolerance point - after which they will begin to show the wear and tear of toxin load. And display symptoms!

Cleaning up our homes, buying healthier products and eliminating big, toxic, cheap industry from our lives will increase health for ALL, but can be the thing that allows a bit more healing for those with chronic health or illness struggles. The less chemicals or foreign matter your body has to process as trash, the more efficient it can work as designed.

VOC’s, mold, and GMO's or pesticides on our food are all easy things to pass on. But have you considered the less-obvious things filling our body’s toxin load? Candida, an internal fungus we all have, can become overgrown in the body (sugar and simple carbs fuel candida overgrowth!) and it secretes its own load of toxins and fungus that create symptoms like fatigue, lethargy, bloating and more. STD’s and stealth infections like the micro-parasite Giardia, C.Diff bacterial overgrowth, recurrent Streptococcus infections and vector-borne pathogens like Lyme, Bartonella and Babesia can all overload our internal toxin bucket as they live, eat, peep and poop into our bodies (they are bacteria and parasites, after-all!). Last internal consideration are chronic virus’. Whether this is in a child who seems to cycle over and over with RSV or an adult who once had Epstein-Barr Virus or Mono - the body creates immune antigens to help with battling these pathogens as well as the viral cells, themselves, though dormant, can add to our internal toxin load.

So, about your husband. His overall toxin load - the sum of internal and external exposures, visceral body fat (stores toxins), labile hormones (how females should be!) - is less than yours. So he doesn’t experience the symptom overflow of an overwhelmed body, like you or your children may. He’s less likely to see as marked a benefit from detoxifying your home and life - that doesn’t mean it’s not helping!

And about your kiddos with the eczema or the recurrent illness cycle - their body size is smaller, toxin concentration more concentrated - so all those steps you make to a cleaner life: they matter much more for the littles in our lives!

We’ll be chatting more about the internal cleanup, but feel free shoot over an email if you have any questions about external cleanup! We try to keep some easy swaps lists on our Detox Your Life page, or support you with clean skincare and beauty options at BeautyCounter'swebsite.
